Celler Masroig (pronounced âce-yeah ma-roshâ) are absolute mofo favourites. They work as a community high on the hills of Mont Sant (a short drive from Priorat) and craft a wonderful selection of wines. L'Om is a light, bright easy version of grenache. Picked at the perfect time and made without much oak influence, it is going to match a huge variety of food, particularly if you chill it down a bit.

Vent del Mar is Catalan for sea breeze, which references the Mediterranean wind that cools the grapes in the sea-adjacent region of Terra Alta, and aids in their organic farming. This shiraz/grenache blend is soft and fruity, with a few dark and stoney notes (likely from the shiraz). It's balanced, delicious and really likeable.

This wine is Spain's superstar tempranillo, spiced-up with a touch of syrah. It's from central south-east, where the sun shines and the grapes bask in the warmth to produce fruit-forward and delicious wines. Just on the plus side of medium bodied, the fruits is wrapped in just enough tannin, with a deliciously spiced finish.

Celler Masroig (pronounced âce-yeah ma-roshâ) is a co-op from one of Montsantâs most special spots and is considered among the regionâs best producers. The community work together to craft excellent wines across local varieties - in this case, 100% carignan. Itâs from steep, south-facing slopes, with hot days and cold nights making the grapes strong. This is a firm and ripe wine with wonderful plum, prune and herbaceousness, strung together by fine acidity, and food-friendly drying tannin.

Itâs the return of a new vintage of Riojaâs new wave tempranillo thatâs named after a crazy cat! Far from the dusty leather armchair wines most associated with the region, this is young, racy and much more fun. Itâs for a young-at-heart crowd, bright, juicy and exuberant. Though, for all its fun, it tastes like a wine well above the price bracket. Raucously red fruited, with 10% American oak to give it some spice, it is compact and punchy in form. Great value for all of the spice, plums and tannins in this delicious wine.

Bodegas Olivares are a family-run winery in the sunny region of Jumilla in the south-east of Spain that weâve been working with for many years now. Their wines arenât flashy, but rather consistently delicious and unbelievably good value. This is a rework of the popular GSM, with the local monastrell (mataro to Aussies), taking the lead role to make a MGS. The wine has sun-drenched summer fruit with a fresh, breezy acidity from the high altitude in which itâs grown. With sweet, swarthy berries and an exotically spiced finish, we can attest that itâs bloody hard to turn down a second (or third) glass.
