Monastrell and garnacha are like a Timon and Pumbaa duo. Monastrell is the more serious, upright and complex of the two; garnacha is the plump, affable, loveable counterpart. Together, theyâre a perfect pairing, balancing each other beautifully with complexity and juicy fruitiness. This bottleful of feel-good fun will have you sitting back on your porch, belting âHakuna Matataâ in no time at all.

- Rioja DOC
This is Riojaâs new wave tempranillo thatâs named after a crazy cat! Far from the dusty leather armchair wines most associated with the region, this is young, racy and much more fun. Itâs for a young-at-heart crowd, bright, juicy and exuberant. Though, for all its fun, it tastes like a wine well above the price bracket. Raucously red fruited, with 10% American oak to give it some spice, it is compact and punchy in form. Great value for all of the spice, plums and tannins in this delicious wine.

This is a simple and delicious take on the well-known GSM blend, famous from RhĂ´ne to McLaren, and just as good in the mid-east of Spain! This version is a touch reductive, leading into a deep and dark nose, then heaps of berries. It has a light-medium body with grainy tannin and more power then you'd expect. Decant and watch this one sing!

This is an early-released wine in the âjovenâ style from Bodegas Forcada in Rioja, who specialise in old vine tempranillo and grenache. Bristling with jubilant cherries and sizzling with exotic spices, itâs perfect for seasoning your snags with every mouthful. 90% tempranillo, filled out with a few splashes of grenache for a bit of plumpness to the palate. Enjoy freely, pour liberally, and laugh heartily!

Welcome back delicious red wine!!! When you consider the price of this Spanish sensation, you begin to see why weâre so ecstatic to have another vintage at the âfo. The bang for your buck here is nothing short of atomic. Explosively juicy fruits abound on the palate; crunchy herbs and tangy bitter orange add complexity. Itâs the kind of wine to drink whether you quaff it from a wine glass or a mug. Itâs still the same devilishly delicious experience every time. Medium-bodied with heaps of fruit, a nice bit of spice and bit of Iberian exoticism.

Bodegas Olivares are a family-run winery in the sunny region of Jumilla in the south-east of Spain that weâve been working with for many years now. Their wines arenât flashy, but rather consistently delicious and unbelievably good value. This is a rework of the popular GSM, with the local monastrell (mataro to Aussies), taking the lead role to make an MGS. The wine has sun-drenched summer fruit with a fresh, breezy acidity from the high altitude in which itâs grown. With sweet, swarthy berries and an exotically spiced finish, we can attest that itâs bloody hard to turn down a second (or third) glass.
