Why do we love this case?

There’s a reason shiraz has long been Australia’s favourite grape, and has similarly taken the rest of the world by storm. Ol’ dependable is always packed to the gills with flavour, but offers so much variation from region to region that you never get bored.

Every case contains TWO bottles of each of the following:

French Import
Mofo Fave

We love a clunky French to English translation. According to Gerald Lafont and Baptiste Olivier, they are ‘making pleasure wine for consumers’. I’m sure that’s not exactly what they were hinting at, but we get the picture. This syrah eschews that typically rigid French practice of working within one region by sourcing fruit from both the Rhône Valley and the Languedoc area. What results is a stylish, and yes pleasurable, wine that isn’t limited by geography. It has dark red fruits, stunning minerality, great drive and a finish of smooth tannins. So cast aside what you think you know about French winemaking tradition and dig in to something far more pleasurable and exciting.

Margaret River makes some of the best medium-bodied shiraz in the country. From a famed single vineyard, this peppery, lifted shiraz is full of primary fruit gorgeousness. Intriguing mulberry and blackberry jump out of the glass after just a couple of swirls while the palate generates serious body, structure and non-fruit notes of soft vanilla and cedar, testament to its 15 months of bathing in French oak barriques. A soft and subtle peppery finish wraps up this little number in a nice neat little package.

This single vineyard Great Southern shiraz is renowned for punching well above its weight. It has heaps going on with lively plums and raspberries, balanced beautifully with secondary notes of black peppercorn, charcuterie and forest floor. It’s a wine that overdelivers every time!

Single Vineyard

Irvine’s Estate shiraz is a prime example of the versatility that South Australia can offer with just one grape. Dense and dark blue and purple fruits jump out of the glass and promise all the richness and roundness yet it’s savoury and non fruit characteristics of anise, soft spice and mocha are the star of the show. With an elegant, medium body to boot and a fresh, precise finish; one glass won’t be enough as you explore all the subtleties. This shiraz is wrapped up in 14 months of French oak (30% of which is new) and frames the wine with optimum drinking now and for many years to come.

Zonte's have done it again - this time a shiraz off a single block in Langhorne Creek that’s silky smooth with florals and plum on the nose, trailed by blueberry, spice and a bit of tannin on the palate. It’s plump and juicy and dangerously easy to drink.
