We love what Thistledown do over in SA, working with some of the best vineyards in Barossa, McLaren and the Hills. This an elegant take on Barossa, medium-bodied shiraz made in a savoury style. Savoury say? Yep, expect classic shiraz fruit and spice, such as plums and licorice, balanced out by a wild herbal streak and super-dry finish.

Rasteau in southern Rhône is famous for their fortified wines and powerful reds. This grenache blend from Domaine Bressy Massone shows off this power and their three generations of winemaking expertise. From a warm and dry vintage, they have crafted a deeply-coloured, beautifully textured wine that is also balanced and elegant. The wine is deep and abundantly fruity. Black currants and cherry liqueur abound, with dark chocolate and velvety tannins. It’s full and fleshy, with an almost endless finish. There’s bags of character and it handles itself gracefully, even with the richness of flavour. Very capable winemaking that’s evident in every spirited glassful.

Warramunda Estate has packed an enchanting wine into a beautiful bottle. The wine is appropriately labelled as syrah, a nod to the medium-bodied weight of the wine, the silky mouthfeel and a savouriness drawn from whole bunch pressing. The nose is of red fruits and roses and the palate carries pepper, spice and earthiness. If you are into cool climate shiraz, this is the complete package. Plus it’s crafted by Ben Haines, one of Victoria's top winemakers. What more could you ask for?

This is big, luxurious, smooth shiraz in fine form. We're stoked to have Massena wines, and their shiraz is an absolute calling card. The nose reminds you of why the world fell in love with Aussie shiraz. It’s all things dark; cherries, berries, coffee and chocolate. Decadent and indulgent. These aromas translate to the palate in a powerful burst of flavour. Waves of smooth, brooding fruit are framed by a structure that is both robust and elegant.

This 100% syrah is from one of our current faves - Maison Ventenac who make all sorts of wild and wonderful wines from across France. This one is a bit more familiar - some would say the French take on an Aussie classic. It’s a fresh and nervy syrah (or shiraz), with a perfect medium body, hints of spice and heaps of red fruit. It’s the kind of joyous wine that you’d take to a picnic, pop in the esky and open with a shoe to show off to your mates. Certified yumm-o!

Journey Wines is back! Most of the wines come from the Yarra Valley, but this shiraz was sourced by winemaker Damian North from the Chalmers Vineyard, one of the most renowned in Heathcote. There’s about 25% whole bunch fermentation with wild yeast, followed by 16 months in mostly older oak. The wine was then bottled without fining, making it good to go for vegans. After four years, this shiraz has just started hitting its prime, showing a bright garnet colour, a nose of red plum and mulberry, and a palate of plums, licorice, blackberry and white pepper. The finish is long and silky, rounding out a stellar drinking experience.
