Shiraz & Co 56.0
Oh shiraz! Our one and only national obsession and love affair! This collection of shiraz is anything but ordinary. From your special bottle to your weekday quaffer, we’ve got you covered. From elegant and poised to rich and raucous, there’s a little bit of everything and more.
Each case contains TWO of each of the following:
Barossa Valley, SA
95pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim | Single Vineyard
Here is another vintage of big, bold Barossa goodness, the one year younger version of a wine that our mofos couldn’t get enough of!! It’s classic, powerful, rich Barossa shiraz with all the trimmings. A solid full-bodied palate, overflowing with fruit, spice and deliciousness. There is depth and complexity in the richness, with well-integrated tannin and a long finish. It’s from the lauded sub-region of Vine Vale, where the best of the best are grown, resulting in a raucously ripe and powerfully plush profile that shiraz lovers across the country are sure to enjoy.

Great Southern, WA
There aren’t too many wineries held in higher regard than this one. You’ll know the name, trust me. They’re a WA icon, a Halliday Five Red Star Producer, and so forth and so on. This shiraz comes from one of their single vineyards, a site that produces amazing fruit every year. It’s always textural, layered, complex, silky and downright delicious. You’d expect nothing less from a winery of this pedigree.

Shiraz Cabernet 2018
King Valley, VIC
5 Star Halliday Rated Producer
When one of our favourite winemakers in the King Valley asks us to come around and taste a few bottles, we come running. He’s a gun with the usual suspects from the region - sangiovese, pinot grigio and, of course, prosecco - but also one of the few that makes shiraz and cabernet fit to stand alongside some of that nation’s best. This classic Aussie blend is medium-bodied, bright, ripe with plum and cassis, and finishes with fine, fine tannins.
YOU’D PAY $30 full price.
Shiraz Blend 2019
Corbières is the leading appellation of the Languedoc-Roussillon region in southwest France. The region is famous for powerful red blends and this is a very classy example of their place. The wine has a deep dark colour and dense cassis, forest floor and red currants on the nose. The palate starts very elegantly and then boom - here’s the juicy fruit! It’s a superbly drinkable and beautifully spiced medium-bodied wine.
YOU’D PAY $26 full price.
McLaren Vale, SA
94pts Winestate | 94pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim | 5 Star Halliday Rated Producer
Welcome back to the ’fo, the little shiraz that could. We’ve celebrated many vintages of this pure Vale goodness, a wine that has attained 14 consecutive vintages with 90+ points. We welcome back your black and blue fruits, distinctive vanilla-espresso (from a touch of new American oak), polished tannins and silky texture. Time to dust off the winter BBQ and get it ready for all of the steaks (or Portobello mushies) that you are going to cook to accompany this wonderful shiraz.
YOU’D PAY $25 full price.
Adelaide Hills, SA
This comes from a side project of one of the Hill’s most exciting newer producers. This is appropriately labelled as syrah, and it’s exactly what you’d hope for from this cooler region. The fruit is generous, yet there’s a savoury side that sits nicely with spice notes such as cardamom, star anise and white pepper. It’s unfiltered as well, so vegans rejoice!
YOU’D PAY $24 full price.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
