Why do we love this case?

There’s a reason sauv blanc has taken the world by storm. For crisp and refreshing, but also massively flavoursome drinking, it’s just about the best grape for the job. In this case, we’ve let a friend come along for the ride by way of a pinot blanc from the Adelaide Hills, which adds a little floral complexity to the pack. From clean minerality to passionfruit punch, there’s the whole spectrum of savvy styles to savour. Plus, there’s two bottles of each - so you get to revisit your faves!

Every pack contains TWO bottles each of the following:

Margaret River is Australia's home of the great sem sav blend, and it doesn't get much better than this! Fresh, vibrant and complex, you are going to love this one from the folks at Capel Vale. But enough from us, we're going to let Sam Kim do the talking here: "Bright and fragrant, the wine shows jalapeno, kaffir lime, nectarine and green tea aromas on the nose, followed by a juicy palate that’s intensely flavoured and lingering. It’s punchy and tasty with a lengthy mouth-watering finish. At its best: now to 2026"

Great sauv blanc is being produced in the King Valley. Who knew? Well, Twin Valleys did. It sorta makes sense that an area that can produce bright, crisp pinot grigio can do the same with savvy b. This one is all tropical fruit and gooseberries, backed up by a softer acidity. In layman’s terms, that means that it makes for some easy drinking. So let Twin Valleys do all the hard work in growing the grapes and making the wine. You just relax and pour yourself a glass (or two).

With an impressive yet deserved 94 points to its name and a wonderful Cam Douglas review to boot, Nga Waka leaves us little choice but to dive into this excellent example of Martinborough sauvignon blanc. There’s more than meets the eye here with subtlety and complexity on show due to an array of nuanced tropical aromas balanced nicely with vibrant citrus acidity. Grassy herbs and stony minerality leave the palate fresh and clean and yearning for another sip. Nothing is over the top or out of whack and the more you sip this stunning Kiwi, the more you’ll find there is to explore.

If you don’t know your Upper Awatere from your Lower, you’re not alone, mofo. This one’s from the Upper reaches, and definitely sings a different tune to much of the Kiwi savvy we’ve come across. Softly brassy citrusy notes waft across the palate, backed by a blackcurrant bud bassline and some herbaceous rhythmic accents. It’s the kind of savvy you’d drink on the porch at sunset. Refreshing and mineral, but not shouty.

New to the 'Fo

Here’s one we weren’t meant to get. One of the airlines had snatched up this delicious wine, but then of course didn’t need it. So we stepped in and grabbed it for our mofos. It’s sauv blanc from Gascogne, a region in southwest France that borders upon Spain and the Atlantic. It’s perhaps most famous for being the home of Cyrano de Bergerac and d’Artagnan, but we’re here today for the wine. There’s pears, peaches and some flintiness on the nose. On the palate it is a completely dry wine, but has a certain richness with hints of honey, compote and some citrus to contrast. It’s super lively with a nice balance of fruit sweetness (yet in a dry wine) and minerality. Alexandre Dumas would be enthralled.
