Rosé Soirée
Yeah that’s right, we said soirée. We can sometimes get a little fancy here at the ‘Fo, especially when it comes to rosé, but we’re still dirtbags at heart. That means you’ll find us sipping rosé by the sea, pouring glasses on the porch, pleasing palates in the park, and basically enjoying the pink drink anywhere we can kick our shoes off without being judged. Why not join us?
Each case contains two bottles of each of the following:

“The reason why I love this, and the reason why you’re gonna love this, is it’s made in that French style so cinsault, syrah, the South of France, Provence – let me take you there.” “Strawberries and cream, a bit slatey and minerally. Bone-dry. Think something fresh and something salady, think chopped cucumber, a nice bit of grilled chicken, maybe some feta chucked in there and a bit of lemon and some nice oil drizzled all over it. I’m actually salivating as I say that, I think I know what I’m having for lunch.” – Grant, Mofo Wine Broker

"This is more of a Spanish style, so it has a bit more going on and a little more fruit than the French provence style which is very much on trend.” “Maybe have this with some seafood or...quite frankly, just drink it on its own. It’s that good. It’s a good rosé quaffer and I’d be happy not to eat with this. Actually, you know what you can do with this? On ice. Bit of inner Kath n Kim, put it on a bit of ice. Make a slushie. Rosés! No, frosés!” – Min, Mofo Wine Broker

We say rosé, the Italians say rosato. Whatever the language, it’s still delicious. Crafted by the legends at Santa & D’Sas, this sangiovese-based rosé is all strawberries on the nose and sweet cherry on the palate. Not to mention a good hint of vanilla, a pinch of spice and just a touch of boiled lollies. One glass in, and we’re fluent.

Ever been to France? Ever spent a week lying by the pool drinking rosé? Well, our wine buyer Karel has. Just last month, in fact. And his Instagram feed is proof #thechairman. While over there, lazing under the European sun and eating things double dipped in butter, he stumbled across this vinous gem. Lovely, dry and incredible value, this is “the best value French rosé we’ve ever had…” (Karel’s words).

Gapsted have done it again with this outstanding rosé made from pinot noir in the King Valley. It’s drier than your nan’s sense of humour, crisper than a pom on Bondi Beach and cleaner than a straight drive from Ellyse Perry. Speaking of Ellyse Perry, it’s the kinda of wine you’d take down to North Sydney Oval for some cricket and smash on the hill. Bursting with notes of raspberry, cherry and watermelon, if you’re keen to have it with a bit of tucker than look no further than spice and seafood – enjoy mofos.

This 5 red star producer crafts quality wines in McLaren Vale and is now exporting straight to your glass. This rosé, made primarily of grenache grapes, is a bright, medium-bodied vino that’s spicy with notes of strawberries and raspberries. Just add seafood, tennis and sunshine. And for under a tenner with 94 James Halliday points, there won’t be many better bargains over the silly season.
