It’s not apparent from the name, but this rocking Rhône rosé is from Domaine Raymond Usseglio, one of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape superstars. We reckon this is what they like to kick back with after a long, tiring day of tasting mega-complex Châteauneuf. And if it’s good enough for the winemaker, it’s good enough for us. Bright, sweet-fruited, crisp and absurdly refreshing, this is about the best accompaniment to a sunny day you can find. It may not be the most serious of wines, but it is seriously good wine.

Oliver & Lafont sound like a French Davis Cup team serving it up on centre court at Roland Garros. Swap the serve-volleys and overhead smashes with meticulous fruit selection and attention to detail in the winery, and you have a winning doubles team. This is the perfect refreshing beverage after a marathon three-setter. There’s wonderful line and length with citrus acidity supporting pretty pink flavours of strawberries, Christmas cherries and Pink Lady apples. It’s fresh, crunchy and tart, with a nice textural line of minerality and spice so typical of Rhône’s grenache based rosés. “Game, set and match: Olivier & Lafont.”

This rosé from The Lane is about a classy a bottling as you can get. That’s lucky – it means you can sit in your garden with a glass of this, while sweating profusely, in nothing more than a bucket hat and your undies, and it’ll still be a good look. That’s not a feat to be sniffed at. Think crisp, cool, crunchy green apples, with the gentle sweetness of summer-ripe berries and a long, refreshing finish. Just don’t forget your sunscreen out there. If you turn the same colour as the wine, the effect is ruined.

There’s definitely a touch of Italian flare with this gorgeous rosé. The Tuscan grape variety sangiovese does very well down under in McLaren Vale’s Mediterannean climate. The result is pure drinking bliss. Bright fresh strawberry, watermelon and cranberry aromas follow on the palate. Refreshing acidity ensures it finishes dry - making it ideal to enjoy on its own or with a mezze platter. You can’t go wrong. Definitely a Molly Ringwald type of wine - it’s pretty in pink!

What do you get when you combine 3 rising stars of Victorian wine, a couple of tonne of grapes and a good cause? Mosé Rosé is what you get. Made by Chris Catlow (Sentio, Beechworth), Pete Graham (Domenica, Beechworth) and Rowly Milhinch (Scion, Rutherglen), this is the third release of Mosé Rosé, a Sangiovese-dominant rosé from North-East Victoria. The Rosé was created to raise funds for the Movember Foundation, who are the famous men’s health charity that urge men to grow a Mo to raise money for their causes. Movember is entertaining as we watch men grow (often questionable) facial hair and awesome as an important cause is supported. As for the Rosé, we are sure you’ll love it us much for the taste as for the cause - there is nettle and pith on the nose along with lots of strawberry. The palate is super dry, with good acid and a little bit of grip.

E. McDougall & Co. is a project born of Eddie’s collaboration with some of the King Valley’s best winegrowers. This rosé is a blend of tempranillo, syrah and nebbiolo. Not the most common mix, but stranger things have happened! It’s imbued with aromas of strawberries, wild herbs, cranberries and violets. The palate is structured and deep, with a chalky finish. Dry, complex and a connoisseur’s rosé.
