Duck Sauce Pinot Noir 2014
Yarra Valley VIC
We look for certain things in our pinot noir: an undercurrent of earthy depth, buckets of juicy red berries, a pinch of spice, a little hint of gamey funk and a silky texture. And it's that texture we're most excited about this year, it features a gorgeous gloss and it's beautifully refined. It starts with red and black cherry on the nose and little tug of that earthy, savoury depth you'd expect from quality pinot. The violet perfume adds a gentle touch to complement both fruit and spice. The wine rolls across the palate in waves; it's soft, gentle and assertive - a balance of contrasts only pinot can pull off. The quack is back!
