Why do we love this case?

Hello, eschewers of red wine. We’ve drunk the red for you and rounded up all the other things you actually like: pink, white and bubbles. Then we put them in a pack for you, wrote a bit about each so you’ll know when, how and why to enjoy them. We just need you to do your part: click ‘buy’ and we’ll shoot them out to you. It’s mainly so we know where to send them. And to receive some money for our time (and wine) too, but mainly the address thing. A formality, really.

Each case contains two bottles of each of the following:

Your favourite rizza is back. Over 2000 mofos bought the 2015 vintage and the ‘16 is an absolute cracker. Coming from a 5 star producer in the Clare Valley, it has fantastic structure, great weight and a long finish, and recently picked up 94pts from Sam Kim. It’s bringing citrus, apples and that minerally crunch to the glass in a hit of refreshment and will quickly become a summer staple.

Waimea Estate reckon 2016 was a difficult harvest “resulted in a lot of pacing about vineyards and an intense obsession with weather forecasts,” but if their Spinyback gris is anything to go by, they’ve overcome the challenges with style. It’s absolutely smashable now, a light, easy to drink by itself or with seafood and salads. Sam Kim gave this gris 91 points, saying “it is instantly appealing on the nose...offers excellent fruit purity and intensity, wonderfully enhanced by silky texture and juicy acidity.” It has also picked up a couple of gold medals, and Sam Kim really does sum it up best: “a real crowd-pleaser.”

Dark Horse Winery

Originally from northeast Italy, prosecco has made a happy home here in the King Valley. Which is good for us, because we order it by the case to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, Fridays, Saturdays...lunch times. On a hot summer’s day, nobody can put this baby in the corner. Crisp, clean and dry, it has beautiful acidity and drive. I asked John, from the Mofo Wine Team, about the new vintage and he just said “Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink.” ‘Nuff said. You’re looking at notes of pears, apples and citrus – your new best friend this summer.
