Why do we love this case?

A pack of fine folk under a tenor - I mean, tenner. No need to sing for your dinner when this pretty little dozen of ditty-lovers can set the baritone for the night. They’re alto-gether delightful. A good bass to start with, one might say (or one might not, but they should have). And if you don’t buy it, well, we might just call the Sopranos. And no one likes horse’s heads. I mean, it’s hard to find a good wine match, for starters...

Each case contains two bottles of each of the following:

Mofo Buyer John told me this winery is on fire, luckily he didn’t mean literally! This is a dark, velvety drop: think black cherries, dark chocolate and rum dancing around your mouth. Once you taste it, the only thing burning will be your desire for more of this tasty vino delivered to your door.

“So it’s quite a savoury pinot and quite structured as well. It has some lovely tannins there and some dark blackberry and raspberry flavours. I reckon it’d go with an afternoon BBQ. Saturday afternoon, maybe 3 or 4 o’clock and you’ve got your mates around. Grilled meats, a few salads, nothing too serious – you’re just having a good time and knocking a few back. Delicious wines and frivolity.” - Nicci, Mofo Wine Broker

“There are lovely aromas of blackcurrant, a little bit of spice and a tiny bit of tobacco. A high quality wine for the price there. I’d probably go a lamb roast, or maybe even a beef roast, because it has that nice tannin. It’s going to go really nicely with a bit of hearty protein that’s been shoved in the oven for a couple of hours. Medium-bodied, drinking beautifully now, but it will age five, maybe ten years if you really want it to.” - Eddie, The Wine Guy

London’s calling to the faraway towns, now war is declared and the...bottles come down. Bottles of this cabernet blend from Claymore, to be precise. A 75-25 blend of cabernet-malbec, the cab brings the structure while the malbec provides an Argentine-inspired juiciness to the wine. There are big, juicy blackcurrant and plum flavours with notes of herbs and liquorice playing second fiddle, but The Clash won’t be found here: just a rounded wine with the two varietals working perfectly together.
