Why do we love this case?

This pack is a bit like sitting on the edge of a warm azure pool on a tropical holiday, and dangling your feet in, with a delicious cocktail. It’s wonderfully refreshing and the best of both worlds. It doesn’t take you deep into the world of wild funk and wine controversy. Instead it gives you feels that could keep you happy all day long. When you’re ready to go full natural, we’ll have that mixed pack ready for you too. This is the one to convince your fence-sitting friends with.

Gilles Lapalus, is there anything this charming Burgundian-Central-Victorian can't do? Reds, whites, vermouth... and Pet Nat. It looks just like it tastes - peachy and delicious. Gilles has been making Ancestrale Pet Nat since 2011 when he worked with Fairbank. A pioneer of the style that has nailed the 2019 - all delicious bubble and no overflow. Pop pop pop!!!

This little skinsy number from the Adelaide Hills is an absolute ripper. Pinot gris fermented on viognier skins for 8 days in terracotta pots. Orange, textured and a perfect blend of fruit and fresh herbs. We have enjoyed all of the Main & Cherry wines we have tried and the small batch experimental series are a delight that we really enjoy when we can get our hands on them.

We're not sure what we love more - The Stoke's take on the wines of Kangaroo Island or winemaker Duggie's instagram account. For the wine - they are fresh, vibrant and varietal. As for the social media - it's fun to the max and features a koala called Drinky Bill.

Gourmet Traveller Young Gun Winemaker of the Year 2016

This rosé is an innovative blend of pinot noir and pinot grigio, made by heir to absolute Margaret River royalty, Nic Peterkin. Nic is the son of Mike Peterkin at Pierro, and grandson of Diana Cullen (of Cullen Wines). He’s a bit of a larrikin who’s breaking away from the well-trodden and comfortable, in search of genre-changing ways to make wine. Slowly, but surely, Nic’s even winning some of those old Margs bastions round to his way of thinking. It’s even in picnic-perfect 500ml bottles, saving you a bit of weight and a half-drunk bottle of warm rosé to lug back after your lunch break.

La Senda 'Vindematrix' Mencia 2017
Medium-bodied

Bold

This is the absolute wild card of the pack, hailing from cooler region of Bierzo in Spain's north-east and is 80% mencía (red) plus a couple of white varietals. The grapes are organically farmed and winemaker Diego Losada has a hands-off approach in the winery. The resulting wine covers the full spectrum of berry fruits with a touch of sour plum. Chill to serve and drink with an open mind.

Downe-Lo Rosé 2018

Strawberry

Deep

Anyone who fears the spectre of sweet rosé rearing its ugly head need not worry. This is complex, bright and savoury. It’s made from cabernet pressed to pinot gris skins, so you get texture by the bucket-load, and deftly dodge any vacuous strawberries-and-cream-simplicity. There’s green apple acidity, but with a yellow apple flavour and pithy pear skin texture. A breath of volatile acidity keeps you on your toes, like a breeze creeping in under the door. Then the herbaceousness kicks in: basil, parsley and lemongrass. Cracking will all sorts of food and versatile. Save the Provence stuff for entertaining the boss, and keep this for when you want to drink something different, and delicious.
