We all have those moments of indecisiveness. What to drink? Red. Yes. But what am I in the mood for? A juicy pinot ? A winter warmer shiraz? A balanced gsm? And Iâve always wanted to try a cab franc that awakens your senses from first to last glass...
Fear not, mofo. This pack of mixed reds contains all the above, no need to make hard decisions here. Weâve made them for you, and (not to toot our own horn) but theyâre good.
Each case contains ONE bottle of the following:

This blend of grenache and shiraz shows us what the McLaren Vale is capable of producing, and certainly what Thistledown is capable of producing! Starting from the bush-trained old vines, the grenache produces low yielding, intense fruit. Once picking commences, it's done gently and carefully to ensure only the best grapes are selected. Then, we get to the winemaker's magic, ageing in concrete or french barrels to create that underlying oak flavour. And what's the finished result? A wonderfully vibrant and aromatic wine, featuring all manner of red and black fruits, raspberry, blackcurrant and a touch of allspice.

I was lucky enough to walk these vineyards a few months ago and spent some time with the family behind Viñalba. The old gnarled vines growing well at impossibly high altitudes require extremely dedicated attention. And the old world influence of the French-born winemaker leads to wines of not only the trademark Mendoza power, but also a nuance and elegance that lift them to the next level. Everything is done by hand from the vineyard to the winery and the resulting malbec is left to rest in fine French oak for twelve months. Thereâs a distinct pleasure in drinking this wine and understanding the cultural connection between the modern malbec of Mendoza and itâs origins in France. What a journey!

St Johns Brook have a vineyard established in 1998, and work with close-to-organic, sustainable practices. The quality of the fruit shines through in their wines, particularly this reserve shiraz. There are firm dark fruits, like plums and blackberries, with a medium body and a softness in texture. The wine has seen 14 months in 50% new French and Hungarian oak providing it with beautiful chocolate and coffee notes, and abundant tannins.

Castelli Estate are one of those reliably consistent producers who we have come to love. They work across all of the classic Great Southern varieties - riesling, shiraz and in this case, a stunning cab sauv. This wine is silky smooth and approachable now, yet built to age for a decade or two. Classic medium-bodied, cool climate goodness.

Trofeo Estate have dedicated themselves to the ancient practice of aging wine in handmade Florentine terracotta amphorae. In an effort to innovate, these guys have looked to the past, ditched the oak, and made a wine like itâs 600 BC. Doing so preserves all the gorgeous fruit intensity of pinot, saving it from being smothered by overly vanilla-ey oak abuse. It matures in much the same way though, being airtight, itâs not an oxidative process. The result is a cherry-rich, sweetly spiced pinot thatâs exploding with character and nuances that you may well have missed out on otherwise. Thisâll cellar wonderfully, but itâs drinking damn well now too. Plus, itâs the worldâs best talking point when your guests arrive.

Fresh and lively, yet dark and brooding, this grenache from Clare Valley titan Kilikanoon is everything we need to get us through the night. Dating back to 1997 when this wine first started being made, this old-vine grenache is a sentimental one in the producerâs portfolio. Hand-picked and matured for 15 months, the final blend was bottled unfined and unfiltered (vegans rejoice!). With lifted aromas of dark cherries, blood plum, orange zest and tumeric, this wine is better than that dark chocolate bar you have been saving. Textured and savoury, what better than this excellent drop to have with your next dinner.
