This wine is a Left Bank Bordeaux-inspired cabernet blend from Wills Domain in Margaret River that balances brightness, richness, structure and complexity so perfectly. Halliday Wine Companion review: "Bottle 3667 of 733 dozen. Brambly cassis pastille, pomegranate and ripe summer raspberry. This is supple, bouncy, beautiful and long, with elegance and harmony to spare. Glorious expression of cabernet from a cool and aromatic year."

This is magnificent wine. From Penley Estate's very top of the range, it’s garnered nothing but superlatives in its praise. It’s spectacularly intense in flavour and concentration, without being unwieldy in weight. Coonawarra at its towering best. Halliday Wine Companion review: "A 65/45 split, whole berries, fermented separately and aged 18 months in French oak, 50% new. There's a certain power and depth built into this. Awash with dark fruit and darker spices, fuller bodied, with a gloss and a shine to the tannins that make it appealing. It's going to age superbly."

One of our bestselling wines from Haselgrove is back with a bang (for your buck). Previous vintages of The Lear have been awarded 95+pts. The proof is in the pudding and mofos have gone mad for this shiraz. It’s rich, full-bodied and brimming with luxurious McLaren Vale fruity-chocolatey notes. There’s some of the very best grapes in the region here, held together by a generous touch of French oak. Halliday Wine Companion review: "A vineyard cull across the estate's best sites and their respective mesoclimates. Sumptuous and rich. Violet, anise, molten raspberry liqueur and coffee grind are groomed by impeccably integrated French oak and ripples of judiciously extracted grape tannins, pithy and tactile. The piste of flavour is smooth and long. An enjoyable wine, plucked, tweaked and manicured with great skill. Immense pleasure, here."

We’re all about value and delicousness as our greatest goals mofo, so when this one landed in our laps we didn’t have to think twice about it. This particular wine from Chalk Hill is one that strives to be the best it can be, only made in years where the fruit receives an A+ report card. Brimming with intensity of fruit, and brought into line with some serious saline plum and abundant spice from the 15 month oak treatment. Blueberry, dark cherry and chocolate seem to be buoyant from the glass, and likewise on the palate. The finish seems effortlessly long, melting onto the tongue as though it always belonged there.

We’ve run with the GSM from this vineyard before. Now it’s time to break it down to the basics with something that’s anything but basic. Here’s the straight grenache from this historic Eden vineyard. And Massena has gone to great lengths to ensure this bottle is something special. Ceramic eggs, extended time on skins and whole bunch pressing has coaxed out the finest of tannin profiles and wonderful structure. There’s aromatics, spice and dense fruit contained within. Heady stuff for sure.

Spoilt for choice of old vine shiraz, Cape Barren heralds these intensely flavoured wines as their call to action. Creating wines that are true to McLaren Vale, and the generations of craft that have been invested into the region. The fruit comes from old vines in McLaren Vale and Blewitt Springs, checking in at up to three quarters of a decade old. There’s deeply bound notes of spicy, chocolatey french oak that complements the pure line of blackcurrant, bramble and licorice. Standing tall now, we can’t wait to see where this will be in many years time.
