Why do we love this case?

Shoes shined? Check. Tie straight? Check. Dinner Party Reds pack? Got it!

Ok, you may not need the first two so much these days, but don’t dare rock up at a mate’s place without the vino. This nifty three-pack has you covered, and covered bloody well.

Every case contains one of each of the following:

Clone Barossa Shiraz 2017
Black Olive

They’ve spared us in terms of in-your-face oak with this delicious shiraz. That’s refreshing enough as it is. What you get instead is bags of characterful fruit and spice. Dark plums and chocolate, earthy and floral overtones and sweet spices. Silky, dense blueberries and crackles of black pepper. It’s a very stylish wine, and long as anything. Juicy enough to drink alone, it’s also plenty food-friendly. It’s a single vineyard from Barossa’s sunlight-bathed Western Ridge. The result is delicious ripe flavour in the glass that positively sings of sunshine.

Rioja DOC

Gatito Loco Rioja DOC Tempranillo 2017
Sam Kim
5 Stars Sam Kim

This crazy cat is at the very cutting edge of Rioja’s new wave of wonderful wines! Far from the dusty leather armchair wines most associated with the region, this is young, racy and basically decked out in go-faster stripes. It’s for a young-at-heart crowd, bright, juicy and exuberant. It’s the kind of wine that screams fun and is gonna rub off on all your guests. It tastes like a vino well above the price bracket, though deftly avoids stuffiness of any kind. Raucously red fruited, with a generous dollop of French and American oak, it’s prepped to party as soon as that cork is popped. And imagine casually serving funky new-wave Rioja, just as your house red. How f*@!ing cool are you?!

Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley

Duck Sauce Pinot Noir 2018

Duck ’n’ cover, mofos, because the new vintage of our quacking collaboration pinot is coming in like a meteor. 2018 was a long, dry growing season and gifted this lovely Yarra drop with spades of lifted perfume and texture. Those bright cranberries and redcurrants are front and centre in its youth, and it’s a lovely option to chuck in the fridge for some cool and fruity freshness. But if you manage to avoid guzzling all of it down in the first month, it’ll reward cellaring with delightful forest floor and spicy notes. The fine acid backbone was made for rich, fatty dishes. No prizes for guessing our dream food pairing with this one!
