The epic line-up: Art of War, Arcadia Bohemia, Old Money, The Orgy, Bisou Bisou and the ever so lovely, Duck Sauce. These vinos were created with our favourite producers, and now appear in one irresistible six-bottle case inevitably bound for your drink-now rack. Enjoy, Mofos.
You clamoured for it, now here it is - the chance to taste each of these six wines that we're proud to call our own. Available in straight cases once you realise you love them all. Each case contains one of each of the following and don't pretend you don't know who they are.
Art of War Barossa Valley Shiraz 2013
Drawing from old vines, there is intensity and complexity without pretensions of winemaking artefact. Just as smooth and bold as the 2012, but the fruit comes to the fore, plummy and rich dark chocolate and blackberry, blueberry and black pepper, cascading over the top of the lovely, supple strength of fine oak and balanced, quiet power.
Duck Sauce Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2013
We look for certain things in our Pinot Noir: an undercurrent of earthy depth, buckets of juicy red berries, a pinch of pepper, and a little hint of gamey funk to spice things up. This is what we bring you, as true to form as we could muster. Steve Webber is a veritable master of all things Pinot, and has a great deal of experience in Burgundy and beyond, and he brings this knowledge to all his Pinot Noir with aplomb.
The Orgy McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2014
Loaded with savoury earthiness, earl grey tea and spicy red and black fruits. We asked Malcolm what he thought of his handiwork: “We reckon we’ve harmoniously integrated the varieties, so it’s ready for youthful drinking very soon after bottling”... and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.
Old Money Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
This bespoke Cabernet features fruit foraged from the Brand family’s Estate vineyards of Coonawarra. Traditional, artisan winemaking and inner-city back alley blend testing combine to showcase ripe, vibrant mulberry and blueberry fruit from a glorious 2013 vintage.
Arcadia Bohemia Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2014
100% Yarra Valley fruit, this exudes notes of white peach, nectarine, pear, cashew and even some soft vanilla and beeswax. With a touch of rich creme brûlée flavour that lengthens and crisp acidity that tightens and defines, its balance and poise are first class. Almost heavenly.
Bisou Bisou Yarra Valley Blanc de Blancs NV
A premium blend of four special vintages, with just a hint of of sweetness for balance and softness, plus three years on lees for voluptuousness. De Bortoli has crafted for us the perfect wine - versatile, soft and complex.
