Brokenwood has been at the top of their game for a long time now, so much so that some of our mofos have become converts to their chardonnay almost exclusively. Hunter chardonnay has such character and individuality which just adds to the utter versatility that is Aussie chardy. In its youth, enjoy crisp citrus and fleshy melon notes perfect for a warm arvo but in years to come, a developed nuttiness will reveal itself and a richness over the palate. Drink now or drink later? The choice is yoursâŠ

Established in 2007, think of Atlas as the cool new kids on the block. From the artsy, minimalistic exterior of their wines to the delicious, handmade, minimal-intervention juice inside, Atlas are just plain stylish. Winemaker Adam Barton crafts small-batch wines using only the most premium quality grapes, with fruit for this particular Chardonnay sourced from the fantastic Woodside vineyard in Adelaide Hills. Balanced, bright and creamy, this lovely drop is a tropical fruit bowl packed to the rim with melon, mango, peach and grapefruit. Thereâs a pillowy softness to the palate and a lively acid line which drives its long finish.

Oh, how we love Kiwi chardonnay! Hailing from Waipara in North Canterbury and lovingly crafted by the talented folks at Tiki, this chardonnay has been created with immense attention to detail. Packed full of juicy nectarine and rockmelon, vanilla and nougat characters, plus a delightfully soft and textured mouthfeel. Sam Kim calls it âsucculent and creamyâ and we tend to agree. Rock solid Kiwi chardonnay that weâre sure youâll enjoy.

Hereâs TabalĂ chardonnay from their Gran Reserva Pedrogoso range, sourced from a small vineyard in the Maipo Valley. Here you can witness vines rooted in alluvial limestone-heavy soil and surrounded by cacti. Itâs quite a sight to see. Fruit is hand-harvested and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity. Thereâs an intense mineral component on the nose, citrus and pineapple drive the palate and youâll find just a touch of salinity on the finish due to the Atlanticâs influence.

Roll out the red carpet! This wine is from one half of the winemaking team from Julien Schaal - the one and only Ms Sophie Schaal. Itâs the first release under her eponymous label, and with experience across Burgundy and South Africa, youâd be right to expect a very smart chardonnay from Sophie. The wine is full and smooth, bursting with melon and citrus, dancing alongside mineral notes and soft acidity. This is a cracking chardy at an amazing price and we are as excited about the wine as we are to work with Sophieâs range into the future.

The Yarra Valley is such a powerhouse for chardonnay and this wine, made by the fantastic Rob Dolan, shows you why. It has complexity and yumminess at the same time, as fruit and acid dance together on the palate. Green apple, grapefruit and stone fruit are all there in this light-medium bodied fresh and delicious wine.
