Why do we love this case?

Psst, you there! Yeah you! Stop looking around, you’re acting suspicious. You’re here for the Black Market wines, aren’t you? Yeah, that’s this box here. Don’t worry they’re all 100% legit, we’re just doing our winemaker mates a favour by not shouting their names from the rooftops. We don’t want to upset anyone, just cause we give you the best prices.

Each case contains TWO bottles of:

Shiraz 2018

McLaren Vale, SA

5 Star Halliday Rated Producer

McLaren Vale shiraz, yes, but lithe and vibrant. A more medium-bodied feel leaves room for the lively fruit flavours to sing, unshackled from big, beefy, old-school styles. Classic brambly goodness skates on a fresh sheet of acidity, with just enough grippy tannin to keep it grounded. Miraculously food-friendly, there’s all the ingredients here for an infamous dinner party red. The kind you and your mates are liable to enjoy a wee bit too much of an evening.

YOU’D PAY $40 full price.

Pinot Noir 2020

Waipara Valley, NZ

90pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim

This pinot noir is rich and ripe with a palate of plum and blackberry. There is a hint of oak and a smooth finish. For lovers of Kiwi pinot, this’ll scratch that itch.

YOU’D PAY $30 full price.

Sauvignon Blanc 2020

King Valley, VIC

This King Valley savvy B is all tropical fruit and gooseberries and is crisp and bright, showing off the region (which makes great pinot grigio). With soft acidity, this one is easy drinking so we highly recommend whipping it out on a hot day.

YOU’D PAY $25 full price.

Pinot Grigio 2020

Veneto, Italy

Certified Organic

This classic Italian grigio has subtle floral notes with firm pear and tart flavours. We recommend drinking this in your sun drenched garden at around 4pm, with maybe some green olives to pair with it. Following that, when you’re deeper into the bottle, have a light dish, something like grilled white fish. Delicious and bright, this Italian beauty is a real keeper.

YOU’D PAY $24 full price.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Barossa Valley, SA

If it weren’t for the cabernet ‘grip’, the textbook tannin that squares things away so nicely, it would simply slide down the hatch. It’s just too easy breezy and delicious. The lifted red berry aroma is a gentle prelude to dark berries that roll in waves, washing over the palate with some cheeky vanilla sweetness lolling around too. Bold with just subtle oak on the finish, this is a ‘sit down’ kinda wine.  No shaking the snake hips on the dance floor but rather dim the lights, recline and settle in.

YOU’D PAY $20 full price.

Chardonnay 2019

Yarra Valley, VIC

5 Star Halliday Rated Producer

Seriously delicious and surprisingly complex Yarra chardonnay. You’ll know the producer; you’ll revere the wine. The fruit comes from three vineyards in different corners of the valley, blending together to provide texture, nuttiness, citrus, chalky minerality and some savoury notes. A mix of French oak and stainless steel are used for ageing, further adding to the exquisite balance.

YOU’D PAY $20 full price.

What is a Black Market deal?

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
