Black Market Mixed Case 66.0
Psst, you there! Yeah you! Stop looking around, you’re acting suspicious. You’re here for the Black Market wines, aren’t you? Yeah, that’s this box here. Don’t worry they’re all 100% legit, we’re just doing our winemaker mates a favour by not shouting their names from the rooftops. We don’t want to upset anyone, just cause we give you the best prices.
Each case contains TWO bottles of:
95pts Halliday Wine Companion | 5 Star Halliday Rated Winery | Halliday Special Value Wine
This is riesling from one of the Coal River Valley’s top producers, a wine that earned high marks from Ned Goodwin to the tune of 95 points in James Halliday’s Wine Companion. It’s so fresh, so confident and so easy. The citrus is bright with its accompanying acidity, the nose is all orange blossom and green apple, and there are hints of pithiness and quince on the palate. There’s even texture and a dash of spiciness to boot. It’s like a Ferrari easy chair, super sporty but so very comfortable.

Clare Valley, SA
5 Star Halliday Rated Winery
Clare Valley shiraz is in a class of its own. It benefits from the ballsy, rich-fruited, adrenaline-pumping charms of South Australia, but retains a bright flash of refreshing acidity thanks to the higher altitude. The resultant wine is fruit-forward and plush, but lighter and brighter and full of herbaceous crunch. There’s something for everyone, then, and a full spectrum of flavour. From tangy blueberries and softly scented raspberries, to summery black cherry and juicy plums. It’s tied together by a gentle peppering of tannin and a gentle kiss of oak.
YOU’D PAY $30 full price.
Pinot Noir Syrah 2018
Adelaide Hills, SA
92pts Sam Kim | 4.5 stars Sam Kim
What an odd blend you say? Truth be told, it’s one of the classic Aussie blends that became a rarity for ages before a resurgence in the past decade or so. Pinot provides gentle red fruits like strawberries and cherries along with an earthy undertone. Syrah provides the oomph in the form of plums, spice and a bit of meatiness. It may seem odd, but it really, really works.
YOU’D PAY $28 full price.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Limestone Coast, VIC
94pts Sam Kim | 5 stars Sam Kim | Single Vineyard
This tasty cabernet straddles both worlds of youthful and serious, from Coonawarra’s little brother region of the Limestone Coast. Drinkability is at the forefront, with just enough tannin structure to make you know it’s cabernet. Black currants, spice and dark herbaceous notes are underscored by licorice and a touch of pepper. Fruit delivers powerfully and with some unexpected mid-palate richness. Long-lasting Limestone Coast goodness right here.
YOU’D PAY $27 full price.
Pinot Grigio 2020
King Valley, VIC
The Alpine and King Valleys are national leaders for producing delicious grigio. It’s likely thanks to all the Italian influence up there. There’s more Italian surnames floating around those parts than in The Godfather. So really, you’d expect them to know what they’re doing with pinot grigio.
This’ll keep you cool and refreshed on the hottest of days. It’ll please everyone from Auntie Karen to your grigio-guzzling bestie. Don’t turn your nose up at a great wine doing great work, even if it is as ludicrously low priced as this. Trust in this great value vino. It’ll repay you in flavour, every damn day.
YOU’D PAY $25 full price.
Yarra Valley, VIC
5 star Halliday Rated Winery
A crowd favourite from the Yarra Valley, this revolutionary winemaker has been seen as a benchmark since the 90’s for his delicious chardonnay. Bursting with a bright approachability (much like its owner), this vino has a palate of grapefruit and lemon skins, with hints of cashew nut and oak followed by a youthful, lemon citrus finish in the mouth. Vegetarians rejoice, this drop pairs perfectly with some finger-licking veggies.
YOU’D PAY $24 full price.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
