Why do we love this case?

Is this the dawn of a new era? You’ve been to the Black Market, but you’ve never been BEYOND the Black Market. So buckle up, it’s time to go. We’ve got a box of wine here sporting a massive 71% discount! Don’t worry they’re all 100% legit, we’re just doing our winemaker mates a favour by not shouting their names from the rooftops. You won’t find out what the wines are until they hit your doorstep, these are dangerously good value, keep it on the down low.

Each case contains TWO bottles of the following:

Shiraz 2016

Barossa, SA

96pts Wine Orbit | 5 Stars Wine Orbit

This Barossa shiraz speaks of the powerful 2016 vintage and the master crafters who made it. It’s powerful and opulent, but maintains a certain grace that keeps everything in balance. There’s no surprises here with the flavour profile, an expression of blackberry, plum, chocolate, spices and cedar from the use of 30% new French oak. After five years in bottle, it’s drinking beautifully now, but has another decade of prime left in it for those patient types.

Cabernet Franc 2019

Victoria

Small-batch Producer

It is VERY exciting we are able to get our hands on this one at the ‘Fo. Only available in exclusive small batches, this Yea Valley cab franc is not one to miss. It’s beautifully perfumed and the inviting bouquet is layered with ripe plum, cedar and cloves, and the elegant palate is delicately poised with berries and a touch of mint. It’s absolutely delicious!

Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Coonawarra, SA

98 Winestate Magazine | 95 Sam Kim | 94 Tony Love | Five Stars Sam Kim| Vegan Friendly

Age-worthy, award-winning Coonawarra cabernet for under $15? Is this for real? Yes indeed it is and you’d be right to think that deals don’t get much better than this!

This wine truely shows the best of what the famed region has to offer, as it walks the tightrope between power and elegance with perfect poise. There are ripe dark fruits of plum and cassis, wrapped up in fine tannins and complimented by notes of toasty oak. It is intense, but also wonderfully balanced. We don’t need to say much about the ageing potential of cabernet with all that structure and tannin, but we will say that you’ll be glad it’s coming as a dozen.

YOU’D PAY $55 full price.

Cabernet 2013

Margaret River, WA

Museum Release

This has aged beautifully in its nine years of life. It’s still quite plump and juicy thanks to the merlot component, but those savoury cabernet characteristics such as eucalypt and graphite have enthusiastically announced their presence. It’s all wonderfully integrated, making for easy drinking with plenty of layered complexity.

YOU’D PAY $45 full price.

Shiraz 2021

Adelaide Hills, SA

94pts Winestate | 4 Stars Winestate | Single Vineyard

Oh do we love Adelaide Hills shiraz! Medium-bodied, easy to drink, savoury, perfect with an array of foods. This one’s got all the magic touches - single vineyard, basket pressed, time in French oak. The fruit expresses itself as blackberry, plum and cherry and there’s a lovely spicy hit on the finish derived from the barrel ageing. So interesting and so very easy to drink.

YOU’D PAY $35 full price.

Shiraz 2021

Frankland River, WA

Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage off our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.

Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!

YOU’D PAY $33 full price.

What is a Black Market Deal?

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article, absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
