Why do we love this case?

Is this the dawn of a new era? You’ve been to the Black Market, but you’ve never been BEYOND the Black Market. So buckle up, it’s time to go. We’ve got a box of wine here sporting a massive 71% discount! Don’t worry they’re all 100% legit, we’re just doing our winemaker mates a favour by not shouting their names from the rooftops. You won’t find out what the wines are until they hit your doorstep, these are dangerously good value, keep it on the down low.

Each case contains THREE bottles of the following:

Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Barossa Valley, SA

96pts Sam Kim | 5 Star Sam Kim

It gets overshadowed by its spotlight-hoarding mate shiraz, but Barossa cabernet is pretty damn good. This one is sourced from a vineyard planted over red clay and limestone. As you’d expect from a Barossa red, it’s quite ripe and rich, with an intricate palate of plum, spice, tobacco leaf and cedar. The tannins are chalky and the finish is long. We’re certainly all in on this low-pro cab sav.

YOU’D PAY $60 full price.

Pinot Noir 2019

Yarra Valley, VIC

The 2018 vintage of this wine that we sold a little while ago absolutely rocketed out the door, and we expect the same will happen here. This well-known Victorian producer sources three different pinot clones from a little vineyard in the Yarra, whole-berry fermenting them separately. The batches are then aged in a mix of old and new French oak for a year before a final blending. The final product is opulent on the nose with ripe strawberries and cherries paired with truffle and forest floor. The velvety palate carries its acid well and hints at even greater developments after a few years of age, when more earthy characteristics will peek through.

YOU’D PAY $59 full price.

GSM 2018

Barossa Valley, SA

95pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim

Barossa GSM is an absolute institution. This one, produced by a family-owned winery, is composed of nearly equal parts of the three varieties. It has that typical grenache spice to it, but the inclusion of shiraz and mourvédre smooth things out a bit. It’s a touch creamy with redcurrant and strawberry aromas, flowing beautifully into a palate of plum, more strawberry and dark chocolate. The tannins are silky smooth, making this ready to drink now or for the next seven to eight years.

YOU’D PAY $55 full price.

Shiraz 2020

Barossa Valley, SA

94pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim | 5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

This is quintessential dry-grown Barossa shiraz, dark and brooding in fruit profile, rich in tannin and spice, and carrying underlying secondary complexity with a smooth texture. Their winery is Certified Biodynamic and all of their vineyards are either Certified Biodynamic or biodynamic in practice. Dry farming plays a huge part in their grape growing as well, promoting incredible concentration of flavour. Everything is hand harvested and only their own fruit is used. It’s no surprise that they’ve attained a Five Star Red rating from James Halliday.

YOU’D PAY $50 full price.

What is a Black Market Deal?

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article, absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
