Women of Wine

According to Yalumba, this wine is named after former South Australian governor Lieutenant Colonel Sir Henry Lionel Galway – a keen wine man who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Sounds like the kind of person we’d like to share a bottle on wine with! This bold and fruit-driven wine would be a good one - full of plums, blackberry and dark chocolate. A conversation-starter no doubt.

Made by one of Eden Valley’s best and hopefully it’s next destination is your wine rack. Sitting in a great spot for drinking or cellaring, this shiraz sits at the top end of medium-bodied, with a nose full of red liquorice and cassis. If you are looking for a Barossa with a bit grunt - rest assured that this is a powerful wine, with a mouth full of concentrated plums and a heaps of spice. It’s super long and like we said, medium-bodied, elegant.

Old Vines

We are delighted to have this shiraz from Barossa icon Bethany in this lineup. It's an entry-level wine, from a few parcels of estate vineyards. It's a great intro to an epic producer - classic, bold Barossa, full of plums and spice, backed by integrated tannins. 2017 was a long and cool vintage, bringing elegance to a concentrated wine.

Bold

Here’s a new one for us. It’s the first go at Barossa shiraz from the crew at Mojo and it’s a ripper. It’s bright and punchy with hints of raspberry, white pepper and tobacco, all supported by time in a mix of French and American oak. This is big and rich, but still quite versatile with food. Grill a steak, roast some pork or grab a burger from around the corner. It’ll complement all of them quite well.

Single Vineyard

This isn't the explosive Barossa shiraz you might expect, rather savoury in style, medium-bodied and altogether rather different to the usual boldness found from SA. Think berries and spice and all things nice (bit of licorice). Give this shiraz a go and discover why we love this small batch producer so much.

Perfumed and instantly appealing, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, mulberry, clove and vanillin oak characters. It’s equally satisfying on the palate, offering terrific fruit power together with plush texture and silky tannins. Enticing and delicious.
