Mofo Fave

The universally-adored Lou Miranda shiraz is back with a roar for the 2017 vintage. Still unmistakably Barossa, still as ferociously opulent as the name ‘Golden Lion’ suggests. This year’s season produced juice of incredible quality, loaded to the brim with dark berries, plums and dramatic spices. Maturation in American oak gives both delightful toastiness and a fabulously creamy and coconut-rich finish. It’s big, bold, and ballsy drinking to sink your teeth into on important family get-togethers. This beast will cellar for a decade or more, easily. That’s no reason to shy away from opening it though. We’re betting this lion won’t stay caged for long.

New to the 'Fo
Boutique Producer

From the Auld Family, who have been making wine in South Australia since the mid-1800’s, comes a rich, silky and deep wine. The grapes come from a few growers around the region and the wine shows the best of all sites - soft tannins sit amongst plum, chocolate and a touch of spice. It's a family you wish loved next door.

Bold

Here’s a new one for us. It’s the first go at Barossa shiraz from the crew at Mojo and it’s a ripper. It’s bright and punchy with hints of raspberry, white pepper and tobacco, all supported by time in a mix of French and American oak. This is big and rich, but still quite versatile with food. Grill a steak, roast some pork or grab a burger from around the corner. It’ll complement all of them quite well.

Old Vines

We are delighted to have this shiraz from Barossa icon Bethany in our shiraz lineup. It's an entry-level wine, from a few parcels of estate vineyards. It's a great intro to an epic producer - classic, bold Barossa, full of plums and spice, backed by integrated tannins. 2017 was a long and cool vintage, bringing elegance to a concentrated wine.

Women of Wine

According to Yalumba, this wine is named after former South Australian governor Lieutenant Colonel Sir Henry Lionel Galway – a keen wine man who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Sounds like the kind of person we'd like to share a bottle on wine with! This bold and fruit-driven wine would be a good one - full of plums, blackberry and dark chocolate. A conversation-starter no doubt.
