Why do we love this case?

We are very lucky here in Australia, with wine growing regions in all but one state/territory - the NT not growing wine grapes, as far as we know. We also have the climates to produce top reds, whites and fizz. This pack covers an amazing selection of Aussie whites covering four states, five grapes and six wonderful producers.

Each pack contains ONE of the following:

White
Chardonnay
Tasmania

Goaty Hill Family Select Chardonnay 2017

Chardonnay from Tasmania from the team at Goaty Hill? We're off to a great start! Tassie's cool climate slows ripening, providing layers of complexity - add some solid oak and rigorous vineyard selection and we're making magic. This reserve chardonnay is what you'd expect from a top producer like Goaty Hill - concentrated, balanced and long with grapefruit and nutty notes supported by struck-match flintiness.

Hand-picked

This five-year-old Barossa sem from the team at Rosenvale is their reserve level, coming from 80-year-old vines. Everything is done by hand with a natural ferment taking place in oak barrels, followed by extended contact on lees. The acidity is going strong, but the bright citrus notes have softened to a moreish lemon curd and the palate seems to have gained texture along the way. Drinking well now, with years of drinking ahead.

Anyone who knows, knows that Great Southern over in WA is a fantastic region for riesling. This gem from Willoughby Park, who are based in Denmark, is from a single vineyard at Kalgan River, fermented with wild yeast and left on its lees for three months to provide some texture. That texture surrounds a palate of lime cordial, orange blossom, and stunning minerality. If you are a lover of zesty, bold riesling, this will suit perfectly.

It’s a sauv blanc for the sophisticated wine snob set at a corner bottle-o price.

From a small grower that is so small that he doesn’t have a website, comes this textural interesting take on Pinot Gris. A pungent and sulfidey nose with lots of pear and a richness that is followed in the palate. Gris in weight but a lively texture that would suit a Grigio fan too. Made by Luke Curry of Taturry Wines, who also makes his own wines from Mosselini grapes.
