- Great Southern
Paul Nelson is making some of the most exciting wines out of Great Southern that we've seen in ages. No boundary is too rigid for him to push. This white blend is something he playfully refers to as Gewurzling. You guessed it...it's a blend of gewurztraminer (60%) and riesling (40%), two of Alsace's great white grapes. Together they make magic. A wild ferment and three months on lees has built in layered complexity and texture, making for a light-bodied, yet intensely flavoured white that brings out the best in both varietal components. Cook up something spicy and enjoy the hell out of this perfect pairing.

- Margaret River
If you’re into the natural and minimal intervention movements in wine, then you're probably aware of the wines of Jo Perry. She sources the fruit for this one from a vineyard in Margaret River and has given it a whole bunch press and time on skins. Fermentation was completed in seasoned oak before letting it rest on lees for a few months. The name of the game here is complexity. Look for lemongrass on the nose along with herbal and floral hints. The wine is a bit viscous on the palate, yet still quite clean and cleansing, finishing with a subtly medicinal note reminiscent of sweet vermouth. A little sulphur was used before bottling, so this isn’t technically a natural wine, but very little other intervention took place, letting the fruit speak for itself. A bit different but exceedingly delicious.

- Hunter Valley
Dalwood Estate was established in 1828 and is considered the birthplace of Hunter Valley wine. As the longest running commercial vineyard in Australia, it's got a bit of a leg up on the rest. This semillon comes from vines grown in sandy loam on the south bank of the Hunter River. The warm and dry 2020 vintage has made for a fragrant wine with aromas of lemongrass, a citrus-driven palate and loads of ageing potential.

Pinot blanc flies a bit under the radar in Alsace. Everyone raves about the riesling and gris, but don’t sleep on the blanc. Quality examples such as this one exhibit texture, a clean palate, bright fruit and bracing acid. Look out for pear, stonefruit, lemon and white pepper. Perhaps the pinot blanc should get more attention. But until it does, we’ll be able to unearth gems like this for a ridiculous price.

- Wrattonbully
There’s a reason fiano is gaining traction amongst the Aussie market. Put simply, this grape is all kinds of delicious. It boasts enough pizzazz to have you dancing on your feet, but can put on its formal wear and be ready for more ‘serious’ occasions. Carillion are really hitting the ball out of the park with their fianos, and this number is all kinds of lovable with fresh melon, white florals and lemon pith glowing from the glass. It’s palette is just as bracing, finishing with a lemon sherbet-like crunchy texture. If you need a little brightness in your day, look no further.

This lively and delicious wine is made by Bodegas Olivares who are behind one of the most popular rosés that Vinomofo has ever sold. If you are a fan of their rosé or simply love refreshing, vibrant and very well-priced wines, then this is one for you. From the Jumilla region of Spain, that sun-drenched part of the world has concentrated all its life-force into this ferociously smashable white. All the sun is balances by freshness from a high altitude vineyard (650m) and the spiciness of the verdejo grape. Bright acidity and citrus flavours make it zippy right from the get-go, but a warm climate allows for some charmingly sunny orange, peach and spicy notes, too.
