The 2017 vintage had it's challenges, but this wine and this producer bucked the trend entirely. This is a masterfully crafted, elegant-yet-powerful (thanks to that slightly higher ABV), age worthy Cab. We can't get enough of it (literally, we bought everything we could get our hands on and it won't be enough). Varietal in all the right ways; long, herbed, a touch twiggy, a lot brambly. Where it steps outside the mould a little, though, is in the density of the fruit. It borrows somewhat from the powerful fruit profiles of Coonawarra, but it doesn't shed its Margaret River finesse in doing so.

South Australia’s Limestone Coast is not quite as famous as a few neighbouring regions, and as a result the value to be found there is staggering. At this price, get set for your mind to be blown. It’s got the trademark florality of your classic coonawarra cabs, although we’re talking more intense black forest fruits and pepper rather than your typical violets and berries. If you're anything like us, you'll be astounded at the value here.

The Flint family have worked the vineyards of Coonawarra for six generations, and their wines speak to the quality fruit they produce. In fact, the same vineyard that produces this cabernet has historically gone into St Henri cabernet, so you know this is really top tier stuff. Bursting with classic Coonawarra notes of menthol, blackcurrant and eucalypt, you’ll want to return to glass after glass of this beauty.
