95+ Point Pack - Shiraz & Co Edition 3.0
This is the summit, mofo. The ‘Best in Class’ of the wine world. Shiraz beloved by the experts and novices alike. The wines that turned even the haughtiest of critics into star-struck fanboys and girls who mysteriously ‘forget to spit it out’ during a high-brow tasting panel. The concept behind this pack is pretty simple; there’s only one condition to entry - a 95 point or higher award. The vast majority need not apply. We already separate the wheat from the chaff here at the ‘fo. This is the artisan stonebaked masterwork that results.
Each case contains TWO bottles each of the following wines:
Barossa Valley, SA
95pts Sam Kim
Look out for the power of the 2018 vintage, loaded with dark plums, purple fruits and a great big whack of oak and tannins. This year’s season produced juice of incredible quality, loaded to the brim with dark berries, plums and dramatic spices. Maturation in American oak gives both delightful toastiness and a fabulously creamy and coconut-rich finish. It’s big, bold, and ballsy drinking to sink your teeth into at important family get-togethers. This beast will cellar for a decade or more, easily. That’s no reason to shy away from opening it though. We’re betting this lion won’t stay caged for long.

Great Southern, WA
95pts James Halliday | 5 Star Halliday Rated Winery
One of WA’s greatest producers makes this shiraz under a side project label. This side project stands tall in its own right though with a Five Star Halliday rating and 95 points for this specific wine. Fruit is sourced from vineyards in Great Southern before being taken to the winery to ferment with 20% whole bunches. Texture is the name of the game with this wine with only older oak used in the ageing process. Bright red fruits are accompanied by pepper, minerality, licorice, earthiness and silky tannins. It’s a fun and casual wine, but there’s a lot of complexity just beneath the surface. Beauty and brains - the complete package!

95pts Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion | Gold Medal China Wine & Spirits Awards | 93pts International Wine Challenge | 91 pts Mike Bennie | 5 Star Halliday Rated Winery
This very solid performer (last few vintages scored 95 points) is for the fast and the furious mofos, as there’s not much this vintage. While the 2014 had a little viognier in the mix, this one has some nebbiolo instead - you say potato, we say tomato... speaking of bolognese gnocchi, that’d go alright with this! Ripe and rich, it comes on all plum, chocolate and blackberry, packed with flavour and superfine tannins. The struggle (to stop) is real.

McLaren Vale, SA
95pts Sam Kim | 5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery
This producer has to be one of the most consistently excellent wineries in McLaren Vale. Many of their wines get scores in the high-90s year after year and we reckon this wine may have the same fate, so were happy to get in before the reviews. The flavour’s there and the points will come. This one is McLaren Vale to a tee with all the dark, ripe berries, chocolate and spice you could want. It’s full-bodied and absolutely delightful. Trust us, mofo, this stuff is awesome.

Syrah Blend 2018
97pts Decanter World Wine Awards | Best Wine in Show Decanter Wine Awards
This lovely red is from Corbières, which is one of the warmer areas in France, resulting in a slightly richer and more powerful wine. It’s made from 30% syrah, 30% grenache and 40% carignan. The syrah brings spice and acid, the grenache brings jubey red fruits and the carignan adds an opulence and purple fruits. It’s medium, bordering on full body, full of dark red fruits, spice and lovely drying tannins. It’s sure to be a great drink over the next 5 years.
YOU’D PAY $27 full price.

Welcome back to the ’fo, the little shiraz that could. We’ve celebrated many vintages of this pure Vale goodness, a wine that has attained 13 consecutive vintages with 90+ points. We welcome back your black and blue fruits, distinctive vanilla-espresso (from a touch of new American oak), polished tannins and silky texture. Time to dust off the winter BBQ and get it ready for all of the steaks (or Portobello mushies) that you are going to cook to accompany this wonderful shiraz.
YOU’D PAY $25 full price.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article, absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
