2x Penley Estate Black Bull Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Guess who’s back and ready to go? One of our favourite Coonawarra producers, Penley Estate, has done the hard work to bring back this Mofo favourite. Aptly named, this robust cabernet packs a punch with strong, flavourful and classic Coonawarra characteristics we’ve all come to love and enjoy. Dark fruits of the black forest abound and surround the recogniseable cedary, minty core; while framed with superb mineral tannins that allow for youthful drinking while still earning a nook in your cellar over the next 10+ years.

2x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This is jam packed full of black and red fruit - currants and raspberries mix with bramble and plums. The earthy and greener notes chime in late, backing up that initial fruit with some savoury depth. Classic Coonawarra - completely delicious. Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine - and we're speaking from experience.

2x Serafino Wines Vineyard Selection Cabernet Shiraz 2022
Red — Cabernet Blend
McLaren Vale — Australia
Cabernet and shiraz. Two of Australia's greatest red varieties, grown in one of its greatest red wine regions, transformed into Australia's greatest red blend. When McLaren Vale producers gets this blend right - and this lot always do - the result is something genuinely hard to resist. Dark berry and plum from the cabernet, a peppery, velvety richness from the shiraz, and a spice-driven complexity woven through a palate that's structured, approachable and deeply satisfying. The tannins have enough presence to give it shape without ever feeling grippy, and the finish carries on long after the glass is empty. This is the bottle for a long Sunday lunch, a good piece of red meat, or a midweek dinner that deserves something better than ordinary. Exceptional value from a five-star producer. Grab a few - trust us, you'll find plenty of reasons to open them.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Mitolo Wines Jester Black Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
McLaren Vale — Australia
Everything you want in a fun glass of cabernet, and more. Super aromatic, bursting with blackberry, morello cherry and chocolate: this cabernet is drool worthy. This is a jaw-dropping value delight from a McLaren Vale winery many a Mofo has fallen in love with - Mitolo. The thing about Mitolo is, once you fall in love, you're in love forever... This wine is built to entertain; its reason for being is to let the good times roll. Think jubilant, ripe fruit flavours with plushness to spare. A solid sprinkling of tannin keeps the edges in check and adds a bit of seriousness to this dribble-inducing cabernet. These pguys don't ever miss the mark, so you know you're in good hands here.

2x Reschke Bull Trader Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Hurry up cab friends; the clock is ticking with little time to pinch this wine while stocks last. From the best-known region for Aussie cabernet - Coonawarra, South Australia’s nailing the brief here for iron earth woven like a tapestry through cassis-ripe flavours. Simply stunning. Hold the phone, this always scores high points - with a previous 2018 vintage scoring 98 points from Wine State. That’s an insane score; this vineyard is magical! Full-bodied, quite rich, silky texture and full of dark fruits indicative of the variety. There’s a bit of spice from French oak as well. We are confident this will fly as fast as it arrives, so snatch some up while you still can.

2x Rymill Striking Colt Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This is the cabernet you reach for when you’re making something decent for dinner but don’t feel like opening a “special occasion” bottle. Splash a bit into the Bolognese, have a glass while it simmers, then open a fresh one for the table without a second thought. It’s classic Coonawarra in feel, from a producer the locals know well. Weeknights are sorted! Medium-bodied, blackcurrant-led, with that regional freshness keeping things tidy. There’s a touch of oak in the mix, just enough to round things out without turning it into a project wine. This is cellar-door stockpiling territory. The sort of bottle you’d happily grab by the dozen because you know exactly what you’re getting every time - reliable, tasty, and easy to work into the week. Good wine, good price, good company. That’s the brief, and this one smashes it.
