We have to say, this one was a hard pack to pull together. Mostly because we kept drinking all of the cellar reserve cabernets ourselves, or couldn’t keep them in stock long enough to bring a pack together.

Why do we love this case?
The point is mofo, we got there. We all know aged cabernet can be one of those unicorns, hard to find, but priceless when you do. Our producers have done the cellaring for you, so now all that’s left to do is crack these babies open (although we suggest giving them some airing time before diving in).
1x Magarey Lane Glenroy Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Classic Coonawarra - cassis, blackcurrant and dark plums rule the fruit profile whilst the regional characters of eucalypt and allspice pick up the slack. As soon as this wine hits the glass, it's unmistakably Coonawarra, unashamedly bold and unsurprisingly vibrant. 18 months in a mix of French and American barrels brings a complexity to the oak profile and fullness that will leave this wine in seriously good nick for as long your patience lasts.
You’d pay $130 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Victory Point Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
Every vintage from this Margaret River estate is a serious, considered wine built to last. But the 2018 is the one people keep talking about. 96 points from Halliday. Nearly a decade of bottle age. And a drinking window that is, right now, absolutely perfect. Margaret River cabernet at its most compelling - rich, ripe and powerfully structured, with dark fruit, cedar, aniseed and clove woven through a wine of real density and depth. 96% cabernet sauvignon with a touch of malbec and petit verdot adding texture and intrigue. French oak for 16 months. Years of careful cellaring. The result is a wine of immense pleasure right now, with the stuffing to keep going gracefully for years to come. The tannins have spent years finding their place and landed somewhere seamless and elegant, giving the wine a presence that's genuinely impressive without ever feeling heavy-handed. The finish is long, generous and complex - the kind that keeps evolving in the glass long after the first sip. Margaret River Cabernet at its absolute best. From a producer who rarely puts a foot wrong. Don't sit on this decision as long as you could sit on the wine.

1x Reschke Bos Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Yep, believe what you're seeing. This is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The needle in the haystack. The one you've been searching for. The perfect drop. It is quite a joyful moment when we get our hands on aged cabernet, from a top producer in the world-famous Coonawarra region. What better wine to show with some age than a cabernet, after all? Vibrant blackcurrant and oak have come together, tannins mellowed and earthy, secondary elements emerged. Unless you have a cellar full of aged wine, this is possibly the best chance to pick up some absolutely stunning aged cab for a stupidly good price.

1x Jack Estate Mythology Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Premium Reserve Coonawarra cabernet with serious intent. This isn't a wine that needs to announce itself - it just opens up and lets the fruit do the talking. And what fruit it is. Parcels selected from two of Coonawarra's most prized sites, before being blended into something genuinely compelling. That's not an accident or a wine of necessity - that's a commitment to getting it right. Intense crimson in the glass, with blackberry, dark summer berry, mint and tobacco on the nose. The palate is dense and richly structured - dark fruits, raspberry, plum and dark chocolate rolling across a full-bodied frame with beautifully integrated oak and a long, balanced finish that just keeps building. This has 15 years of cellaring potential. It also drinks brilliantly right now with something worthy alongside it - think slow-roasted lamb or anything with deep, spiced flavours that can stand up to a serious red. Premium Coonawarra Cabernet made with genuine craft and patience. At this price, it's an outstanding opportunity.

1x St Hugo Signature Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
2021 is one of the greatest Coonawarra vintages ever recorded. And this crew are one of the greatest producers to ever churn the famous terra rossa soils of the region. 17 international awards and 96 points from Ken Gargett - "knife-edge balance and serious length... this really does impress." Five years of age and this wine is absolutely singing. And it one comes from arguably the most famous name ever to make Coonawarra cabernet. We can't tell you who. But when you see the label, you'll get it immediately. Deep crimson in the glass, with cassis, dark cherry, mint and cedar on the nose. The palate is seamless and beautifully structured - blackcurrant, dark plum and dusty Coonawarra minerality running through fine, sleek tannins and a finish that just keeps going. Five years in and already this compelling. The next decade and a half? Genuinely exciting. From a legendary vintage. From the most celebrated cabernet address in the country. From a producer whose name you already know.

1x Handpicked Regional Selections Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Ask a Coonawarra cabernet tragic where the best cab terroir in the world is. They'll answer immediately, without blinking. And honestly, wines like this make it very hard to disagree. Seven years of bottle age have done exactly what good Coonawarra Cab does with time - the fruit has deepened and settled, the tannins have refined, and everything has come together into something genuinely compelling. That narrow ribbon of terra rossa soil in South Australia's deep south has been producing world-class cabernet for decades, and the 2017 vintage is one of the region's better recent efforts. Dark berry fruit, a classic choc-mint character that's become something of a regional signature, blackcurrant, violet and spice on the nose, and a textured, savoury palate with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Structured and complex without being the least bit intimidating. This is Coonawarra doing what Coonawarra does best. Drink it now with something from the grill or put it away for another five years. Either way, you're winning.
You’d pay $30 full price.
